Miss Maybell, Charlie Judkins and the New Age Artistes band breathe new life into Prohibition-Era Jazz, Ragtime and Blues!
About this Event

Miss Maybell and the Jazz Age Artistes are known for their large repertoire of Prohibition-Era Jazz, Ragtime and Blues. Sourcing their tunes directly from dusty old records and antique sheet music, the group brings new life to songs created over 100 years ago. With this unique sound and dedication they were recently featured on The NPR Show “Person, Place, Thing” With Randy Cohen. Building a sizable following from residencies at Birdland Theater as well as venues such as Flatiron Room, Chez Josephene, The Back Room, St Mazie and Sleep No More, they have also built a respectable international following from performing regularly in Europe, recently headlining Sevilla Swing in Seville, Spain and selling out a week of shows at Marian's Jazz Room in Bern, Switzerland.

Led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Miss Maybell, the group will include such as Charlie Judkins on Piano, Brian Nalepka (of Broadway's "Crazy for You") on Bass, David Sager on trombone, and Anita Thomas on reeds.

The concert will be held at Rosensteel Hall - only a few blocks from the Forest Glen metro (red line). The hall has plenty of parking, lots of seating, a great dance floor, and a cash bar with soft drinks, alcohol, and some snacks. Grab those dancing shoes!
