Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for beginners who want to learn to how to use the functions on their digital cameras, along with getting to grips with basic photography skills. It is a hands on course where you will learn the theory of photography and then get a chance to practice them with your camera on the street.

At the end of this course you will have built the confidence and skills to take amazing photos in a variety of situations with your camera.

What will you learn?

• Basics of exposure including ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture and how these settings affect how light and dark your images are
• Learn how to use camera settings including Manual, A, S, P mode (to get you moving away from auto mode)
• How to control depth of field using the aperture
• Learn about different types of lighting and how to utilise it to make images more creative
• Image composition
• Different camera lenses, different focal lengths and when to use them
• Image editing, post - processing and which software to use

What you will need

• DSLR (Digital single-lens reflex) or mirrorless camera that has Manual, A, S, P modes
• Camera lenses (optional)
• Notepad and pen for taking notes
• Waterproof clothing in case it rains
• A willingness to learn
