It’s often said that printmaking is where craft meets art. Come and explore the craft of carving lino to create an original artwork. Under the guidance of local printmaker Jo Boddy you will be introduced to the basics of linocut printmaking in this exciting workshop where you’ll experience the thrill of peeling back the print from the plate to reveal your very own creation.What to expect:
You will be guided through the process of making a simple line drawing, transferring this to lino, cutting the design and printing it in one colour. If time permits, we may be able to add a second colour.
We will be printing by hand burnishing and there will be one small relief press available to share.
All inks, lino, a selection of papers and other equipment is provided.
You will leave with several impressions of your print and your carved lino plate.
What to bring:
You may like to bring an idea of a subject or design with you, but there will be some images for you to choose from should inspiration fail.
An apron or old shirt is very useful to protect clothes as we will be using oil-based inks.

10.15am to 2.15pm, with a 30 minute break for lunch.
