Held in conjunction with the Home & Family: A Printmaking Exhibit.
Taylor-Grady House at Landmark Commons is proud to partner with the University of Georgia’s Black Artist Alliance (BAA) and Printmaking Student Association (PSA) to present Home & Family: A Printmaking Exhibit in celebration of Black History Month at Taylor-Grady House. The exhibition will be on view February 6–27, 2026, at the historic Taylor-Grady House.
This year’s exhibition theme, Home & Family, reflects on belonging, connection, and shared care. The selected works explore both physical and emotional spaces where we find community, safety, kinship, and love—offering a window into the collective creativity and resilience that shape our sense of home.
The exhibition features work by acclaimed Atlanta-based printmaker Jamaal Barber, known for his intricately layered relief prints that examine Black identity, memory, and community. Barber’s work has been exhibited nationally and featured in numerous publications and collections.
Alongside Barber, fourteen student-artists affiliated with the University of Georgia and two UGA faculty members from Lamar Dodd School of Art will present original works in a wide range of printmaking media.
The exhibition is organized and hosted collaboratively by the Black Artist Alliance, Printmaking Student Association of the University of Georgia, and Taylor-Grady House at Landmark Commons.
“This partnership with UGA students represents our commitment to arts education and engagement in Athens,” said Cindy Haygood, Visual Arts Committee Chair and Board Member, Taylor-Grady House at Landmark Commons. “Together we’re celebrating the power of shared stories, creativity, and community. Exhibitions like this deepen our understanding of home and strengthen the cultural ties that bind us.”
