The 2025 Armstrong Browning Library & Museum Benefactors Day celebration, “Primary Visual Sources at the Armstrong Browning Library: Digital Humanities and Undergraduate Research,” features Dr. Heidi Hornik, Department Chair and Professor of Italian Renaissance and Baroque Art History, in the Department of Art at Baylor University, along with undergraduate Baylor Art History students Haydin Davis and Ellery Copple. This presentation will take place on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. in the Hankamer Treasure Room and online via Zoom Webinar and will be followed by a reception in the Cox Reception Hall.Baylor undergraduate students will receive CAE credit for attending Benefactors Day in person.
During the Fall 2024 semester, Dr. Heidi J. Hornik’s advanced art history seminar on Connoisseurship studied ten paintings in the Armstrong Browning Library. These works served as primary documentation for the source of their research. Students utilized a data visualization dashboard to “publish” their research for future scholars on the Armstrong Browning Library & Museum website. Two students from the seminar will be presenting their methodology and results of their scholarly study.
