The annual celebration of affirming, acknowledging and empowering all members of the diverse in gender & sexuality community during the Brisbane Pride Festival.Throughout the month of September the Cathedral will be decorated with rainbow ribbons, the Cathedral's collection of community pride flags are on display and a specific DiGS program will be supported by the Cathedral Community's monthly Outreach Through Offerings program.
This will be the day when we have a Diocesan celebration of the Synod Apology. To keep the focus on the Apology, this year we will forgo the Labyrinth walk and the Gay-ee Tea.
The key event will be Choral Evensong at 6pm, during which we will have some liturgical elements to celebrate and live into the Apology.
Choral Evensong is streamed every Sunday on the Cathedral YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@StJohnsCathedralBris
One of the glories of the Anglican expression of Christian worship is the service of Evensong, using the Book of Common Prayer (1662) and featuring exquisitely sung canticles, chants and anthems offered by one of the Cathedral's choral groups and choirs.
Guest Preacher: Archbishop Jeremy Greaves KCSJ.
Discussion with Archbishop Jeremy over light refreshments will follow the service.
We look forward to your joining us for this celebration.
