The Pride Stories Collaborative is hosting its first event - an evening devoted to local LGBTQIA+ histories, herstories, and ourstories! Bring a story to share, or an object that holds meaning – photos, t-shirts, posters, flyers, zines – your favorite piece of local LGBTQIA+ history.
The Pride Histories Collaborative is a community-driven initiative dedicated to uncovering, preserving, and sharing the LGBTQIA+ histories, herstories, and our stories of Saratoga Springs and surrounding communities. The Pride Histories Collaborative members include Saratoga Pride, Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation, Saratoga Springs Public Library, Skidmore College, and SUNY Empire State University.
The Collaborative fosters intergenerational dialogue, community storytelling, and public engagement to make visible the lives, spaces, and experiences that have shaped the region’s LGBTQIA+ past. Through programs such as community conversations, pop-up exhibitions, and the development of a lasting archive, the Collaborative will work collectively to document, honor, and sustain these histories for future generations.
If you want to share or learn, you are encouraged to attend the LGBTQIA+ Storytelling Event at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18 at Spring Street Gallery at 110 Spring Street, Saratoga Springs. Light refreshments will be provided, and space is limited so please RSVP below. On street parking is available as well as parking is available in the lot behind 112 Spring Street.
