Starting at 6:00pm on Wednesday, June 19, we will be opening our school to students and the public to sing at our Pride Open Mic! ?
This special Open Mic will be gender-bent for performers to explore their opposite voice type and/or gender and learn about LGBTQ+ representation within all music genres. Everyone is welcome to explore a new identity and character by dressing in costume (must be family-friendly), but it is not required. After the performances, there will be an open discussion about gender expression in opera, musicals, and more throughout history and now. Participants should be in grades 9 to adult.
The event is free for current Worcester Music Academy students and $10 for non-students. Sign ups are due by June 12 and space is limited, so email us today at [email protected] to secure your spot! We hope to celebrate with you! ✨
