Mt Vernon has a long history with PRIDE and the LGBTQ+ community. The annual PRIDE Festival began, and for many years, was held here in our streets. The bars, restaurants, retail merchants, and residents all participated, had fun, and enjoyed the community spirit of it all.
As we all know, the last several years have brought many changes to the neighborhood. With the PRIDE Block Party moving to Station North and the last few years of Covid, things have been very different for us all!
Many businesses have closed, but… many new ones have opened! Many residents have moved away… but many new have joined us.
To highlight these new businesses, welcome new residents and thank those that have been here through it all, we invite you all to join us in celebrating both PRIDE and Mt Vernon with the inaugural “PRIDE of Mt. Vernon” Street Festival!
