Pride Month Screening
About this Event
VCNY is excited to partner with Alcove Cinema in Bed-Stuy to show films by and for Lesbian and Trans filmmakers. These intertwined communities represent an intentional subversion of the established mainstream system of gender. This Pride Month, we celebrate these communities through film.
Before the screening, an archival pre-show will immerse audiences in the rich histories, stories, and communities preserved by community-oriented filmmakers. Through a curated series of short films exploring the intersection of Lesbian and Trans lived experiences, we'll create space for reflection, connection, and conversation about how queerness explores, amplifies, and redefines gender.
Pizza and soda will be provided for attendees! Café items will be available for purchase.
