Pride Month Event and Hike
The event kicks off at 1:00 p.m.(EST) at Fallasburg Park in Lowell. Please park near the main party pavilion. (See map for precise directions. You’ll drive under a stone archway to access a large, paved parking lot.) Follow the NCTA event signs down the paved path to site B-1, which is right at the bottom of the hill.
There are a number of picnic tables and some shade, though you’re welcome to bring your own seating. No meal will be served; some snacks may be available. Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, which can be refilled on site. Bathrooms and multiple playgrounds are also nearby.
A group hike will depart from this site at 1:30 p.m. The length is approximately 1.5 miles of easy terrain along the Flat River with some brief hill climbs. Please wear adequate footwear (hiking boots, sneakers, or sturdy sandals). The route will cross a historic covered bridge. (See the route here. It includes the dotted-line spur trail.) Self-guided hiking is also encouraged. Volunteers will be on-site to help make recommendations and printed maps of the area will be available, free of charge.
No RSVP is needed. The event will occur rain or shine, unless heavy thunderstorms occur. Email [email protected] with questions.
