Pride in STEM Day

LGBTQIA+ people have always been a part of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - pushing boundaries, asking bold questions, and shaping the world we live in.
With this event we want to shine a spotlight on the innovators, thinkers, and trailblazers from across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum who are transforming STEM from the lab to the launch pad.
With a fabulous live science show, interactive activities, and more, join us as we celebrate the past, present, and future of LGBTQIA+ excellence in STEM.
Representation matters now more than ever, let's stand together for a more inclusive, equitable future.
This space is for everyone.
What to expect:
Fab-lab-ulous!
Fab-lab-ulous! is an interactive science show inspired by the stories of LGBTQIA+ scientists. The show is full of colourful science demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy. This show is presented by the talented Sarah Cosgriff (she/they), an award winning queer science communicator with a background in biology. Not to be missed!
Skills Spotlight
Join in with activities and conversations across the galleries, and meet people who are passionate about STEM and heritage. Discover their work, interests, and the skills they use every day.
Story time in the Den
We're reading 'Along Came a Different' by Tom McLaughlin, come and join us for a lovely story all about shapes, colours, and learning to embrace and celebrate our differences.
And more!
