Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride is excited to yet again have celebrated genderfluid singer/songwriter Taylor Abrahamse -This time, she will be playing an intimate, thoughtful & hillarious one-night only show at Take Cover Books.
Like a maple leaf in a gust above the prairies, Taylor Abrahamse blissfully glides beyond the borders of song, gender & genre with his/her deftly crafted, hook-laden hammerclaw pop. A Paul Simon/Prince/Jim Carrey crossbreed, she’ll leave you laughing, moved, and even singing along - if you can reach that high.
Taylor is a Kerrville Newfolk & Four Winds Emerging Artist winner, plus a Canadian Idol & Mariposa finalist. Out of love for his writing, Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Bowie, etc), insisted on working with Taylor to produce & mix his acclaimed FACTOR & TAC funded debut album & deluxe edition. Taylor’s music & writing is also in the feature film 'About Fate' starring Emma Roberts, musicals, and TV series such as ‘Fangbone!’ (Disney) - one of many series where Taylor voices main & supporting characters.
2024 was the first year Taylor has performed extensively while expressing his/her genderfluid identity - finding joy, courage, learning curves, and body curves along the way. Fresh from a US tour with billboard charting folk artist & drag queen Flamy Grant, pride fests from Hamilton to Halifax, and a 12-stop house concert tour across Alberta, Taylor will be releasing new OAC-funded music throughout 2025... and trying HRT.
