PRIDE Film Showing: Feat. Q&A w/ LGSM Organiser
About this Event
All IWW Members and Non-Members are welcome to our showing of PRIDE (2014). It is the sotry of the formation of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (or LGSM), during the historic 1984-1985 Miners Strike.
The story is an essential piece of worker history, showing solidarity between those facing homophobia and the striking workers facing repressive economic policies.
There will be dinner before the showing, and after we will have a chance to have a Q&A and Discussion with Ray from LGSM!
This film and discussion are a great opportunity to show one of the core pillars of the IWW: Agitate, Educate and Organise!
The showing will be held at:
IWW London Branch, MayDay Rooms, 88 Fleet St. on Sunday the 27th of September.
Please note IWW Members and Non-Members will have different arrival times.
Schedule:
From 4:30pm: IWW Members are Welcome.
From 5:30pm: Non-Members are Welcome.
6:00pm: Dinner (takeaway).
6:30pm: Movie Start.
8:30pm: Q&A and Discussion with Ray from Lesbians and Gays Support The Miners.
9:30pm-Late: Chill After and Wind-Down.
