About this Event
Join us for an open-mic style variety show about grief and loss centering voices of the LGBTQ+ community.
Green-Wood is hosting Death of the Party for their first-ever variety show, inviting talented individuals to perform their works surrounding themes of loss. Founded by Melanie Wilson, Death of the Party is a growing community that began as an event series for grieving LGBTQ+ folks and allies. Their mission is to host events that provide activities, rituals, and a safe space for all grievers.
Hosted by The Green-Wood Cemetery in partnership with Death of the Party and Brooklyn Pride Center, share your original, grief inspired poetry, music, written word, or dance with fellow LGBTQ+ artists and allies who understand. After the “Soul Showcase,” enjoy mingling at a post-show mixer. Participation is not required; for those who want to just sit back and experience others’ art, please grab a ticket and bring your friends.
To sign-up as a performer, Please fill out this form. We will curate the performance line-up to ensure variety prior to the event. We appreciate you sharing your talents and soul with us.
