Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases & Bloodborne Pathogens

Participants will learn about infectious diseases and how they spread. They will be taught how to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases. They will also learn the importance of immunizations, proper hygiene and sanitation routines, how to recognize ill children, and when to exclude children from care. Training developed by the NC Child Care Health and Safety Resource Center covering the requirements of OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard and how it applies to child care. Participants will learn about bloodborne pathogens and how they are spread. They will be taught how to control exposure to bloodborne pathogens at work and what to do if they are exposed at work.
