Event Details:

- Time: 11:00 AM
- Location: The History Center's Research Library, 110 North Tioga Street, Ithaca, NY
The Tang family, immigrants from Mainland China in the early 20th century, Wing Quai Tang and Jo King Yung, came to Ithaca and opened Asiatic Garden, which quickly became a beloved mainstay of Ithaca’s restaurant scene. Their son and daughter-in-law, Doo King Wing Tang and Jean York Chun Tang, took over the business and continued its rich, delicious tradition for many years. Now retired, they have made significant contributions to Ithaca's culinary and cultural history. Now they are preserving that history by generously donating their stories and family memorabilia to The History Center's collections, including documents, clothing, photographs, and more.
Come meet them and help us honor Jean and King Tang for their invaluable part in Ithaca's history, and for their generous gifts to posterity in The History Center's collections.
Attendance is free, but registration is required.
