About this Event
You're invited to a special event titled "A Celebration of Scientific Cooperation in Antarctica Between Chile and the UK" in honor of the 65th anniversary of the Antarctic Treaty. The event will be held at the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) and will feature a dynamic panel discussion with distinguished speakers: the Director of the Instituto Chileno Antártico (INACH), the Director of Science at BAS, and additional esteemed panellists to be confirmed. The discussion will be moderated by the Ambassador of Chile to the UK, H.E. Ximena Fuentes.
We are also excited to announce the launch of the "Visual Encyclopaedia of Antarctica," a stunning new book edited by INACH. This encyclopaedia takes readers on an immersive journey through Antarctica, presenting scientific information about Chilean Antarctica and showcasing the deep historical connection between Chile and the continent.
The event will conclude with a captivating photography exhibition that highlights the shared history and ongoing collaboration between Chile and the UK in Antarctic research.
Join us for an insightful and inspiring celebration of bilateral Antarctic cooperation.
