Preservation Workshop | With Love

We are back with our dear friend Zo for a three-technique preservation workshop! Hosted at entry-level, folks are invited to co-learn the basics (+ tips and tricks) of making collagen-rich stocks, tart jams and late-harvest pickled veg.
As the winter months approach us and we continue to improve our waste management in the kitchen, folks are encouraged to bring vegetable ends, a favourite spice, and rind remnants. With all preserves brewing in shared pots, everyone will go home with their own filled mini mason jars.
All ticket proceeds will be in honour of Giwaabamin — a grassroots clinic that provides herbal medicine for an insurmountable array of illnesses linked to houselessness, environmental exposure, poverty and incarceration. All donations shared will cover essentials like rent, jars, oils, honey, vegetable glycerine, alcohol for tinctures and plant materials folks cannot harvest themselves.
Tickets are being offered on a donate-what-you-can basis. $25-$35 is our suggested contribution to Giwaabamin’s efforts, but any amount that’s accessible for you, is encouraged. For those unable to attend but still wanting to donate, please see the GoFundMe link in Cathy’s profile.
We look forward to learning together and sharing an evening of canning and jamming (uhhh huhh, uhh huhh)! All learning materials will be provided, and we heard teas, dates and fruits will be on the table, too.
