Prescribed Fire Field Trip

Prescribed Fire Fieldtrip: Visit a previously burned broadcast/ understory burn site. An introduction to prescribed fire for community members and landowners. Learn about what prescribed burning is and the role of fire historically vs now in shaping our forest and landscape vegetation and wildland fire. See how prescribed fire reduces fire hazard, improves defensible space and forest resilience, and benefits native plants. Learn how a prescribed burn is conducted with a real-world example.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy shoes for walking on slopes and off trails
• Water
• Snacks
• Sunscreen/ Hat
• Whatever you may need for 2-Hours outdoors
