We Can Play Here! was conceived by Prescott Circus Theatre 2023-2024 teaching artist cohort. This year's theme aims to engage audiences and young artists in song, music, and circus to celebrate play, the importance for us to create spaces for play for our children, and assertion that our children have a right to space in our cities, schools, towns to express their joyful selves.
Oakland Spirit Orchestra is a youth and community orchestra composed of current and former Oakland public school students. The musicians construct their own arrangements, write their own music, and improvise.
Oakland Unified School District's Young Adult Program supports young adult learners (18-22 years old) with moderate to severe disabilities as they become responsibly independent adults that have meaningful connections, routines, and participation in their community. The YAP Band and Oakland Spirit Orchestra is led by Alison Balano, Baba Wainwright, and Tarika Lewis.
