PRENATAL Sound Bath

Safe for baby, the sound is also therapeutic for mama. Just one session can help to reduce anxiety, help with insomnia, and lower blood pressure.

Music therapy has been used in obstetrics for years – both during pregnancy and at the time of laboring and birth. There is now a shift of interest to the use of tones from a sound bath and their positive impact on both the physical and mental health of pregnant women.

The session will be facilitated by Kylie-Ann Hamilton, a practicing Certified Nurse Midwife with 10 years experience. She is also a Certified Sound Practitioner.

• A relaxing sound bath

The sound bath is a deeply immersive whole-body experience where, through the intentional use of sound, we complete the stress response cycle, move you away from “fight or flight” and allow your nervous system to rest and reset.

(Due to the nature of a sound bath, door will be locked 5 minutes before beginning. You will not be able to participate if you arrive after the sound bath has begun)

We will have some cushions available; however, please bring your yoga mat, padding, blanket, pillows, bolsters, and any other item you need to comfortably rest on the floor.

We will also have 1 hammock and 1 giant bean bag available.

An eye mask is a good idea

• Keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. Sound waves travel better through water. When you are well hydrated, you will have a better experience.

• Wear warm, comfortable and flexible clothing.

• The sound session will last approximately 60-minutes. During this time bowls and other instruments will be played to encourage a deep state of relaxation.
