Piedmont Wind Symphony's 35th Anniversary Season opens with Fanfare 1989, an original composition by PWS musician Michael Robinson, a tribute to our anniversary. Next, enjoy the consortium premiere of James Syler’s thought-provoking Birds of Paradise, featuring renowned saxophonist and UNCSA faculty member Robert Young. Gala Flagello’s Love and Nature takes us on a beautiful instrumental journey through earth, water, and air, symbolizing kindness and hope for the future of our planet. The program concludes with the world premiere of Windows and Mirrors - Symphony for Band, composed and conducted by the celebrated Brian Balmages.Join us for a preconcert event at 7:00PM with the U.S. Army Band Pershing's Own Brass Quintet.
