Premiere Series: Passage to Portugal

By land or sea, Portuguese food is backed by a long list of classic dishes with Mediterranean foundations but peppered with portions of African, Brazilian, and Spice Route pizzazz. Today, Portugal has cultivated this globalized mélange into one of the continent's most exacting and dynamic cuisines.

Our head cheese buyer and expert monger, Marc, is back from his recent travels through Portugal and excited to share his latest discoveries with you!

Hugely popular everywhere, the evening will begin with individual tinned fish boards featuring a variety of flavors and textures.

Next, Marc will be cooking up his own version of cozido a Portuguesa—a stew with various vegetables such as cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and beans as a base. Depending on what is fresh and available at the time of the class, Marc will choose a protein such as lamb or smoked sausage.

Naturally, since this is Formaggio Kitchen, we'll be embedding our famous cheeses and wine pairings in this adventure. Marc has brought back some treasures from his recent travels and he is excited to share them for the first time!

We'll wrap this beautiful journey with a sweet ending, Marc's favorite Portuguese dessert.

To fully participate in the class:
1. Reserve your ticket through Eventbrite! Purchase one ticket for each member of your party. The ticket price includes admission for one as well as a cheese plate, wine, and accompaniments for one.
2. Class will begin at 7:30pm. This is a seated event in our retail learning setting. The duration of the class is roughly an hour and a half. After class, there will be time to tour our cheese caves as well as shop our expansive product selection (at a 10% discount!).
3. This event is for 21+. Our staff will check IDs at the door.

CANCELLATION POLICY: If you are unable to attend a class, please let us know at least 72 hours before the class is scheduled to take place and we will give you a full refund or a credit for a future class. If you don't let us know in advance of the class, you are not entitled to any refund or credit.
