Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)

PHTLS PROVIDER COURSE: 16-hour course for EMS practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, physicians, and other prehospital care practitioners. Offered as a classroom course in English. Students who successfully complete the course receive a certificate, a card recognizing them as a PHTLS provider for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit. The course emphasizes the application of trauma education through case studies, skills practice, and patient simulations. PHTLS is the global gold standard in prehospital trauma education. PHTLS is developed by NAEMT in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, which provides medical direction and content oversight.
