PreCon: Getting Started with Microsoft Fabric – A Hands-On Day of Discovery

Microsoft Fabric brings together data engineering, data science, real-time analytics, and business intelligence into one integrated SaaS platform. This 1-day hands-on workshop is designed for data professionals, analysts, BI developers, and IT leaders who want to gain foundational experience using Microsoft Fabric.

Participants will explore the key building blocks of Fabric through guided labs and real scenarios. From ingesting data into a Lakehouse to visualizing it with Power BI, this immersive session equips attendees with practical skills to begin using Fabric confidently within their organization.Learning Objectives:By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:• Understand the Microsoft Fabric architecture and core components (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines, Notebooks, and Power BI).• Create and configure a Fabric workspace and experience the unified SaaS environment.• Ingest data using Dataflows Gen2 and store it in a Lakehouse.• Use Notebooks for simple data exploration and transformations.• Build a semantic model and publish it for reporting.• Create interactive Power BI reports using data from Fabric.• Learn basic governance and collaboration capabilities in Fabric.
