Pre- Mother's Day Pottery Tulips Workshop

Join us for a special pre–Mother’s Day pottery workshop on Saturday 14th March, where you’ll create a beautiful handmade keepsake inspired by spring 🌷

• In this relaxed and cosy session, you’ll sculpt three delicate pottery tulips from clay, shaping each one by hand to create a unique floral trio. Once your tulips are formed, you’ll paint them using a selection of coloured slips.
• After the workshop, your tulips will be carefully dried, kiln-fired, and glazed by us. Finished pieces will be ready to collect in approximately 4–6 weeks once all firing stages are complete.
• Workshop Duration: 2.5 - 3 Hours
• Meet at John Marley Centre Reception 5 minutes prior to the workshop, please ensure you arrive on time as there is a lot of steps to get through in the making of your lovely tulips.

Important Info about ceramics, please read:

Due to the nature of ceramics, tulips are delicate forms to make in clay, and while we take great care at every stage, we cannot guarantee survival through the firing process. Clay and kilns can be unpredictable, but we will always do our best to repair or replace pieces that don’t make it through.

As your tulips will be fully glazed, they will need to sit on kiln stilts during firing. This will leave small glaze imperfections or pin marks where the glaze touches the stilts. We will carefully smooth and minimise these as much as possible, but slight marks may remain.

Natural glaze variations such as crazing or crawling can also occur as part of the handmade ceramic process.
