Pre-Health Professions Crash Course Fall 2025

The Pre-Health Professions Crash Course is a half-day program designed for undergraduate students exploring careers in healthcare. Hosted by the Illinois College of Optometry, this event highlights the diverse paths into medicine and the health professions, with a focus on serving underserved communities and advancing public health.

Participants will hear directly from practicing professionals, including a pediatrician from the University of Chicago and faculty from the Illinois College of Optometry, as they share personal journeys, day-to-day experiences, and advice for navigating the application pipeline. Topics will include building effective study habits, understanding personality fit and career motivations, preparing for rigorous programs, and developing communication skills through an interactive admissions interview simulation.

Whether you are committed to medicine, curious about optometry, or still deciding which healthcare career is right for you, this crash course will equip you with insights, strategies, and connections to strengthen your path.
