PRAGUE ART WEEK 26

Pátý ročník festivalu vizuálního umění Prague Art Week se uskuteční ve dnech 24.–27. 9. 2026.
Prague Art Week26 bude zahájen spolu s podzimním Openingem v Národní Galerii Praha ve Veletržním paláci, kdy NGP otevírá 24. 9. u příležitosti oslav 230 let veřejnosti celý palác a představí intervence ve sbírce současného umění. Během čtyř festivalových dní propojí přehlídka klíčové veřejné instituce, soukromé galerie, umělecké huby i netradiční lokace a nabídne návštěvníkům jedinečnou příležitost objevit to nejzajímavější z aktuální české i mezinárodní výtvarné scény.
Výraznou součástí programu budou projekty vznikající speciálně pro Prague Art Week26. Galerie KodlContemporary uvede site-specific výstavu Le Chat Noir v historických prostorách restaurace Parnas. Návštěvníci budou moci také nahlédnout do jedné z nejpozoruhodnějších českých soukromých sbírek, a to Oldřicha Uttendorfského na výstavě Kabinet života v galerii Magnus Art. Festival bude zároveň pokračovat v podpoře nastupující generace umělců. Třetí ročník výstavního projektu Young Selection představí nejvýraznější mladé talenty na začátku kariéry a podruhé se uskuteční v uměleckém hubu The House.
Letošní Prague Art Week přinese desítky nově otevřených výstav, komentovaných prohlídek, otevřených ateliérů, workshopů i setkání s umělci. Vedle tradičních partnerů, mezi které patří Národní galerie Praha s novými intervencemi ve sbírce současného umění a otevřeným vstupem do expozic ve Veletržním paláci, Galerie hlavního města Prahy s doprovodným programem k výstavě Bezhlavý jezdec, Kunsthalle Praha s výstavou Memory of Touch (Paměť doteku), rozvíjející se ve dvou kapitolách a představující první rozsáhlejší uvedení sbírky Kunsthalle Praha, či Centrum současného umění DOX s výstavou Radky Bodzewicz, k níž připraví také rodinnou výtvarnou dílnu. Zde budou mít návštěvníci možnost navštívit také nově otevřenou kolektivní výstavu ANDROS – Mužské tělo v současném středoevropském umění. Výstava Dědictví krve se objeví v MeetFactory. Festival zároveň představí nové aktéry pražské umělecké scény. Poprvé se do programu zapojí galerie Prostora, zaměřená na prezentaci soukromých sbírek, nebo také galerie Ethera zaměřená na minimalismus a abstrakci.
Prague Art Week26 nabídne také rozsáhlý odborný program zaměřený na umění ve veřejném prostoru. Diskuzní bloky v Sueprestudiu otevřou téma vztahu umění, architektury a developmentu a představí inspirativní příklady z České republiky, Evropy i Hongkongu. Program se zaměří na roli umění při utváření identity města, tvorbě komunitních prostor i dlouhodobém rozvoji veřejného prostředí.
Kompletní program Prague Art Week26 bude zveřejňován postupně během léta společně s festivalovou mapou, která opět propojí nové i etablované umělecké adresy napříč Prahou.

PRAGUE ART WEEK je otevřená platforma pro kooperaci nejvýraznějších výtvarných institucí na poli pražské umělecké scény a každoroční festival umění s cílem propojit galerie, muzea, výstavní síně, ale i sbírky umění a další umělecky zaměřené organizace. Vizí PRAGUE ART WEEK je posílit umělecký ekosystém města a zpřístupnit ho místnímu i mezinárodnímu publiku.
Pátý ročník festivalu s názvem PRAGUE ART WEEK 26 představí ve dnech od 24. do 27. září 2025 na desítky událostí z programu předních pražských výtvarně uměleckých institucí.

The fifth edition of Prague Art Week will take place from September 24–27, 2026, transforming Prague over four days into an open stage for contemporary art.
Prague Art Week26 will be launched together with the autumn Opening at the National Gallery Prague in the Veletržní Palace, on September 24 - to celebrate its 230th anniversary, the NGP will open the entire palace to the public and present interventions in the contemporary art collection. Over the four festival days, the show will connect key public institutions, private galleries, art hubs, and unconventional locations, offering visitors a unique opportunity to discover the most interesting things from the current Czech and international art scene.
A significant part of the program will be projects created specifically for Prague Art.Week26. KodlContemporary Gallery will present the site-specific exhibition Le Chat Noir in the historic premises of the Parnas restaurant. Visitors will also be able to see one of the most remarkable Czech private collections, Oldřich Uttendorfský's at the exhibition cabinet of life in the Magnus Art gallery. The festival will also continue to support the upcoming generation of artists. The third year of the Young Selection exhibition project will present the most outstanding young talents at the beginning of their careers and will take place for the second time in the art hub The House.
This year's Prague Art Week will bring dozens of newly opened exhibitions, guided tours, open studios, workshops and meetings with artists. In addition to traditional partners, which include National Gallery Prague with new interventions in the contemporary art collection and open access to exhibitions in the Trade Fair Palace, Gallery of the Capital City of Prague with accompanying program for the exhibition Headless Horseman, Kunsthalle Prague with an exhibition Memory of Touch, developing in two chapters and representing the first extensive presentation of the Kunsthalle Praha collection, or the DOX Center for Contemporary Art with an exhibition by Radka Bodzewicz, to which they will also prepare a family art workshop. Here, visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the newly opened collective exhibition ANDROS – The Male Body in Contemporary Central European Art. Exhibition Legacy of Bloodwill appear at MeetFactory. The festival will also introduce new players on the Prague art scene. For the first time, the Prostora gallery, focused on presenting private collections, and the Ethera gallery, focused on minimalism and abstraction, will join the program.
Prague Art Week26 will also offer an extensive professional program focused on art in public space. Discussion blocks in Sueprestudio will open the topic of the relationship between art, architecture and development and present inspiring examples from the Czech Republic, Europe and Hong Kong. The program will focus on the role of art in shaping the identity of the city, the creation of community spaces and the long-term development of the public environment.
Complete Prague Art programWeek26 will be published gradually during the summer together with a festival map, which will once again connect new and established artistic addresses across Prague.
