Practice Three-Minute Thesis (P3MT)

The Three-Minute Thesis competition, or 3MT, challenges graduate students to share their thesis research within three minutes. Each faculty holds a Faculty Heat, and the winner moves on to the SFU 3MT Final. The SFU winner represents SFU at the Western Regional Competition - and possibly National!

A panel of faculty judges votes for the best presentation, with the People's Choice Award voted by the audience.

1. Download the 2026 P3MT template slide and competition rules .
2. Register by February 20, 2026 - last day of Reading Week.
3. Submit your slide by February 23, 2026 to [email protected].
