This Sunday we will welcome our newest members and hear the case for idealism over cynicism. George Carlin opined, “Scratch a cynic and you will find a disappointed idealist.” We live in a time when it is tempting to feel overwhelmed and in despair. There are many opportunities to feel disappointed. And yet underneath that disappointment our ideals are waiting to help us move forward and chart a path through the challenges that lie ahead. Keep hope alive.
