Clive Witham is coming back to the college in April 2026, to teach his very popular level 1 practical Gua Sha workshop for Health and Wellness once again.
This 2-day practical Gua sha course, which has been specifically adapted for acupuncturists at CICM, introduces you to using Ecology In Motion™ (EIM) Gua sha safely and efficiently in a clinical context.
Clive has dedicated over 20 years in the use and understanding of Gua sha, and in this level 1 course, gives you the foundation and knowledge to give consistent results to your patients.
The course includes:
- theoretical nature-based background of Gua sha & how it works
- history, research & Western/Chinese explanations of Gua sha
- tools, equipment, safety, posture & techniques
- treatment of the back, neck & shoulders
- treatment of the chest, arms & hands
- treatment of the hips, legs & feet
- practical clinical tips, marketing ideas & Q&A
You will leave with a confident understanding of the background, techniques and application of Gua sha and the drive to use it on your patients on a daily basis.
Successful participants are certified at level 1 at the completion of this course, and will receive certification.

Clive Witham is director of the Komorebi Institute and co-runs a Research clinic in Barcelona, Spain. He is an acupuncturist and health promotion specialist and has been using and researching Gua sha for over 20 years, ten of these in his chronic illness clinic in North Africa.
He teaches classes all over the world, runs international projects with the use of Gua sha in low-income communities and his five books which feature Gua sha have been published in six languages.
