About this Event
Practical AI for Everyday Life & Work is a friendly, hands-on workshop for absolute beginners. You’ll learn simple, practical ways to use AI (like ChatGPT) to save time, reduce stress, and get help with everyday tasks with no technical knowledge needed.
In this 2-hour session you’ll learn how to:
- Understand what AI is (in plain English)
- Use AI to break down complex topics into clear, simple explanations
- Summarise long documents and pull out the key points
- Ask better questions to get more accurate, useful answers
- Organise ideas, plan tasks, and create checklists you can actually follow
- Improve everyday writing and communication (messages, notes, short documents)
What you’ll get to take home:
- Printed “Beginner’s Guide to AI" with example prompts you can reuse
Who it’s for:
- Anyone curious about AI who feels “out of the loop,” including older adults, local workers, and small business owners.
Who is it taught by:
- Alexander Turner (BSc, MSc, PhD, PGCAP) has over a decade of experience teaching and leading AI/programming modules at University of Hull and uUniveristy of Nottingham. He specialises in explaining complex ideas in simple terms. He’s also created popular AI youtube videos with over 550k views, so the session is friendly, practical, and jargon-free.
