Pikes Peak State College is absolutely giddy to present MY TWO BOSSES, an adaptation of Carlo Goldoni’s SERVANT OF TWO MASTERS. We open our play in Venice at an engagement party between Clarice, daughter of Pantalone, and Silvio, son of Dottore Lombardi, at a local inn run by Brighella. Suddenly, a rambunctious messenger, Truffaldino, arrives and proclaims that their boss, Federigo Rasponi of Turin, is alive and well (and not killed in a duel, as earlier rumored), and in Venice and waiting outside to meet his fiancée, none other than Clarice! Unbeknownst to all: this boss is not Federigo Rasponi, but his sister Beatrice in disguise, on a desperate search for her one-true-love, Florindo. This classic, family-friendly farce is like Bugs Bunny meets Mrs. Doubtfire, with the always-hungry, perennially-absurd Truffaldino trying to juggle working for two bosses at once - getting paid double, getting fed double, and snagging a smooch with Smeraldina. Disguises! Duels! Love letters! Snacks! Slapstick - and Shenanigans!
