Arizona’s biggest free pop-culture festival is gearing up for a blockbuster event, bringing new stunts, celebrities, top cosplay talent, comics, classic cars, entertainment and community impact together in one high-energy day.
On Saturday, January 17, 2026, The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association will host Superhero Saturday at the Metro District, transforming the area into a full-scale fandom zone with family-friendly vendors and attractions, all benefiting Childhelp and The Phoenix Police Sergeants and Lieutenants Association (PPSLA) Charities.
New this year:
- ASU Sun Devil and Cardinals legend Jake “The Snake” Plummer offers autographs and photos
(a portion of autograph sales will go to Childhelp and the PPSLA Charities)
- Anime and cosplay creators, including fan-favorite performers and past Masquerade winners
- Phoenix Zoo interactive participation
- BMX stunt riders delivering high-energy demonstrations
- Dozens of exhibitors, children’s activity zones, photo ops, and fan experiences
- Free Cosplay in-person and virtual Masquerade Competition with custom trophies
- NASCAR show cars and specialty vehicles from the Army, SWAT, and Valley Metro’s electric fleet
- Additional free parking in the Castles N Coasters overflow lot next-door
This year’s festival is expected to be the largest yet, offering families a “Comic-Con level” experience without the convention-level price tag. The event and parking is completely free and designed to give families access to all the fun and imagination that pop culture brings, while raising awareness and support for Childhelp and PPSLA Charities.
