The Poynter Institute invites you to the 2025 Bowtie Ball on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street in downtown Tampa. The evening begins with a General Admission Reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a program from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Bowtie Ball is Poynter’s signature annual gala, showcasing the most accomplished and lively voices in journalism. This year, we will honor acclaimed journalist, broadcast anchor and author Jane Pauley with the Poynter Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Journalism. We will also present Distinguished Service to Journalism Awards to Dean Baquet and G.B. “Garry” Trudeau.
Guests will enjoy a three-course gourmet dinner, a premium open bar and an inspiring program featuring leading journalists, special cameos and a celebration of the role journalism plays in a free society. General Admission tickets are $400, with proceeds supporting Poynter’s mission to strengthen democracy through the power of journalism.
