Powered Up Conference returns to the London Transport Museum on Wednesday 21 January 2025
About this Event

This year’s theme – Infrastructure, Safety, and the Road to Net Zero – will focus on the most pressing issues facing the transition: from smarter grid solutions and safer roads, to equitable infrastructure investment and global policy lessons.

The event isn’t open to all – but anyone can apply. Every delegate request is reviewed, and only those actively contributing to the EV space, policymaking, infrastructure, or innovation will be granted access. The goal is to ensure the right people are in the room – those who can challenge, collaborate, and create real progress.

Across five curated panels, guests will hear from leading voices in infrastructure, local and national government, mobility, charging, and transport safety. There’ll also be keynote insights, sector updates, and plenty of time to connect with other senior delegates during our welcome gallery walk and closing drinks reception.

Powered Up isn’t just a talking shop – it’s where the conversations become commitments.

We’re bringing together key voices from across the electric vehicle ecosystem — infrastructure providers, local authorities, policymakers, energy experts, fleet operators and safety professionals — all under one roof. The focus? What needs to happen now to ensure we hit our targets for infrastructure, safety, and sustainability.

Powered Up isn’t open to everyone — and that’s the point. Delegates are carefully selected to ensure the right mix of experience, influence and relevance in the room. Anyone can apply to attend, but only those actively shaping the transition to cleaner transport — through policy, technology, investment, or delivery — will be accepted.

This is not just another industry conference. It’s a working session for those serious about change.

What to Expect

From the moment you arrive, the event is designed to drive meaningful interaction. Starting with a welcome reception and gallery walk, guests will be able to connect with fellow attendees, view a visual recap of previous Powered Up events, and dive straight into conversation.

Five expert panels run across the afternoon, covering some of the most critical areas of the transition: ( ALL TBC SUBJECT TO CHANGE )

  • Smarter Infrastructure: How battery storage, grid balancing and smarter deployment are helping us scale sustainably.
  • Driver Experience: What modern EV users expect – and how infrastructure and services need to evolve.
  • Safety & Tyres: As vehicle technology changes, how are tyre innovation and road safety policy keeping pace?
  • Investment Models: Who pays for all this? Public-private partnerships, LEVI funding and beyond.
  • Global Learning: From Norway to California, what can the UK learn from others doing it well?

Each session features a mix of public and private sector voices, chaired by experienced hosts who keep the conversation practical, insightful, and – most importantly – solution-focused.

We close the day with drinks and informal networking just a short walk away, allowing time to reflect and build relationships away from the main room.

Why Attend?

Because time is short and the stakes are high. With net zero deadlines approaching and the EV landscape shifting fast, it’s more important than ever to gather the right people and make space for honest, impactful discussion.

Whether you’re solving infrastructure challenges, working in transport planning, supporting EV adoption, or driving innovation in energy or fleet management, Powered Up puts you in the room with others doing the same.

It’s not about ticking boxes. It’s about unlocking action.

Who Should Apply?

We welcome applications from across the UK and beyond. Typical attendees include:

  • Local and national government representatives
  • Charging infrastructure providers
  • Energy and grid specialists
  • Automotive and fleet leaders
  • Accessibility and inclusion experts
  • Road safety and sustainability professionals
  • Developers and investors in low-carbon mobility

Applications are now open. Every application is reviewed manually to ensure a diverse and relevant mix of voices. Spaces are limited and prioritised based on contribution to the sector.
