Yasmin Ali explores the hidden world of energy
About this Event

When you turn on the lights, charge a device, or enjoy a warm meal on a cold day, do you stop to think about where the energy came from, and how it got there? Most of us rarely pause to consider the energy systems that prop up everyday life. With lights, digital entertainment and heat all available at the flick of a switch, it is easy to forget about the enormous global energy network that makes these things possible.
Join engineer Yasmin Ali for an adventure across the globe to reveal the hidden world of energy; from wind turbines floating off the coast of Norway, to under-sea cables connecting the UK to mainland Europe. Discover where we get energy from, how it is moved and used around the world, and the transition from fossil fuels to a clean, green future.

Yasmin's book 'Power Up: An Engineer's Adventures into Sustainable Energy' will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.

This is a theatre event for children and adults to enjoy together. We recommend our family talks for children aged 7–13, though they can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
