A drill and circular saw are key tools for most home repairs and improvements–come to learn how to use these tools effectively and safely.
About this Event

This workshop will enable you to use a drill and circular saw effectively and safely. After instruction, students will have time and scrap wood to build their own creative project to take home, such as a box with lid or a bird house.

Tools used:

  • Measuring tape
  • Speed square
  • Clamps
  • Drill
  • Impact Driver
  • Circular Saw
  • If time, we will cover jig saw, chop saw and use of spade bits.

Techniques taught:

  • The difference between pre-drilling, drilling, and driving
  • Using impact drivers vs regular drills
  • How to use a circular saw safely
  • Refresher on fundamentals of measuring if desired


Workshop instructor

Erin “Soupy” Campbell has been building and teaching others to build for over 20 years. She lives in a 24’ long tiny house she crafted herself, and runs Carpentry Coach, in which she works alongside homeowners to accomplish their own home repairs and projects.
