The Hon. Maninder Sidhu, P.C., M.P.
Minister of International Trade
GOVERNMENT OF CANADA
Maninder Sidhu has served as your Member of Parliament for Brampton East since 2019. For over four years, he has also been a Parliamentary Secretary at Global Affairs Canada-helping to strengthen diplomatic relations, promoting international trade, and supporting international development. He is a husband, father, entrepreneur, philanthropist and someone who is passionate about making Brampton a better place. Maninder has lived in Brampton for the past 35 years and today, still calls Brampton home alongside his wife and children.
Building on the values that Maninder was raised on, Maninder firmly believes that one should do all the good that you can. Among many philanthropic endeavors, including mentoring aspiring young entrepreneurs, Maninder is the founder of The Kindness Movement Charity. This family charity assists underprivileged school children and the less fortunate in India and here in Canada.
After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Maninder built a successful customs brokerage business, helping businesses across Canada navigate the intricacies of international trade and regulations. Today, motivated by gratitude for the opportunities he has had, Maninder is determined to help young people here find more success, close to home and their families.

Rob Stewart
Deputy Minister of International Trade
GOVERNMENT OF CANADA
Rob Stewart was appointed deputy minister of international trade effective October 17, 2022.
Prior to his appointment, Rob served as deputy minister of public safety for 3 years. During this time, he provided leadership on a variety of issues related to national security, community safety and countering crime, Indigenous policing, firearms, border security and emergency management, including requests for federal assistance related to the pandemic and major natural disasters.
Rob has spent most of his public service career at the Department of Finance Canada, starting in 1993. He held the role of the Government of Canada’s finance deputy for the G7 and G20 and for the Financial Stability Board from 2016 to 2019. He provided leadership and policy advice to the government on a wide range of financial sector and international trade and finance matters. He was previously the assistant deputy minister of financial sector policy for 2 years, prior to which he held the position of assistant deputy minister, international trade and finance for 4 years. Before joining the Department of Finance Canada, Rob worked at Export Development Canada and in the Canadian sport system.
He holds a BA from Carleton University (1981) and an MBA from the University of Ottawa (1987).
