Power of the Purse

The 17th Annual Power of the Purse presented by GreenState Credit Union will be held on Thursday October 24th at the Graduate Hotel Iowa City from 5 pm - 8 pm. Grab your gal pals and friends and don't miss your chance to join us in-person for this impactful fundraising event supporting United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties' campaign and initiatives. We are currently seeking sponsors and donations of new purses auction baskets jewelry and more. 

What is Power of the Purse?

What is Power of the Purse you ask? It's not just an event; it's a fabulous celebration of generosity style and community spirit! Featuring 100+ new and gently used purses along with baskets brimming with treasures wine and more just waiting for you to make them yours through bidding or purchase. POP also offers exclusive Party Row seats where you can choose to host your own private party or join the thrill at a shared location. It's your chance to be the life of the party and support a great cause simultaneously! All proceeds from this event go right back out into our community supporting 29 partner agencies and the worthwhile initiatives of United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties. 

When is Power of the Purse? 

• Event Ticket Purchase/Registration will open in September.
• Virtual bidding/purchase event runs the week of the event an ends at the close of the in-person event
• Culminating event will take place in person on October 24th at 5 PM at the Graduate Hotel in Iowa City.

Cost of Power of the Purse?   

• $50 Event Ticket Includes: Ability to bid on and/or purchase purses auction items and raffle tickets wine and appetizers social gathering with community members uniting for a great cause!
