Our friends from HACAP will be hosting a Poverty Simulation at St. Andrew from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday May 9. For more information about the event, contact Heather Woodin.
What is a Poverty Simulation? Discover the challenges and complexities of living with limited resources as you take on different roles representing various aspects of poverty. Through hands-on activities, navigate through simulated weeks or months, making tough decisions to meet your basic needs.
Gain empathy, understanding, and insight into the realities of poverty while exploring the interconnected issues affecting our
communities. Join us as we piece together the puzzle of poverty and work towards a brighter, more equitable future for all.
Who is HACAP? The Hawkeye Area Community Action Program coordinates the regional Food Reservoir from which St. Andrew obtains the majority of the donations for our Monthly Food Market, which last month provided needed supplies to more than 400 families.
