Join us for a fun pottery wheel session on electric rooftop at Leedy Artfest
Join us for an experience like no other, our pottery wheels are popping up on Electric Rooftop, overlooking Leederville as part of Leedy Artfest. Our incredibly talented potter Megan will spend the session, showing you how to create pottery on the wheel.
In this pottery wheel workshop, you’ll use the wheel to sculpt and create a ceramic piece, focusing on using your hands to create something that is truly one of a kind. We will show you the techniques required to start creating on the wheel and then you can spend the rest of the session practicing your new skill and sculpting a keepsake full of personality.
The wheel is fun for all and this workshop is beginner-friendly.
We are running 2 x sessions, 11am - 1pm and 2pm
What this workshop includes:
- All equipment and tools required including clay
- Firing and glazing for 1 item, you can purchase extra items on the day.
- Instructions & guidance from one of Perth’s best Ceramicists
-BYO food & drink from outlets at Leedy Artfest (more about the festival below)
What to bring:
Clay is wonderfully messy! So be sure to wear some old clothes and covered shoes. We'll provide you with an apron on the night.
Important info about this workshop:
Following the workshop, your piece will be bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired before being returned for you to collect and treasure within 6-8 weeks. Collection location: Hobby Studio in West Perth.
If you create more than 1 x item, you can pay a kiln & glazing fee of $10 per item to turn other creations into usable ceramic vessels.
The pottery wheel can be challenging, sometimes on the first go, you might not create something you love. We will do our best to help coach you along the way. Ceramics can sometimes be unpredictable. Due to this, there are limitations on the size of your items, sadly pieces break during the firing process and we want to ensure you have a beautiful and functional piece. Trust us, we have had to learn from heartbreak! Don't worry though our expert will cover all of this at the start of your workshop.
