Throwing a pot is one of those ‘It’s on my bucket list!’ things and you can do just that here at Potsy Pamsy. It’s the perfect opportunity to have fun and a laugh with family and friends. Perfect for individuals, couples or family groups. Everyone can do it!
This 90 minute session makes a great introduction for those wishing to explore the joys of the pottery wheel. There are no mistakes, just happy accidents along the learning road and everyone will have fun and achieve spectacular results. Children over the age of 8-9 years old are very welcome if accompanied by an adult.
What to bring.
Working with clay is messy! Please wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and bring an apron and a hand towel.
A hair bobble to tie up long hair.
Flat shoes are most comfortable.
Short fingernails are much easier to throw with.
How it works.
The session will start with a demonstration, breaking the throwing process down as the demo pot is thrown. Once you’ve put your apron on it’s down to business!
Lynn or Emily are present throughout the experience, gently talking you through the steps to making your first pot. You certainly won’t be bored as the activity makes for a great spectator sport. You’ll have so much fun watching each other, all the time picking up handy tips from your instructor.
The whole experience lasts up to 90 minutes You may end up with two pots…or you might not! Select your favourite two pots which we’ll fire and glaze and post out to you. Your masterpiece will need to dry thoroughly before it goes in the kiln. It will be fired twice. This whole process takes about 6-8 weeks
