Mercado Art Studios (M A S) is proud to announce a new series of workshops.

We want to invite the community for these social gatherings to invite their family and friends to join us for cocktails and clay! Come unwind and spend a Saturday evening with us and get your creative side to the forefront of your mind. Unwind with a drink and get a chance to experience pottery making and make up to two pots on the wheel in a two hour class.

About This Event:

This event is perfect for a night out single, with a friend or with your significant other. Each attendee will get an opportunity to make up to two pieces of pottery each in a instructor-led class. Upon arrival you will get an opportunity to grab a refreshment of your choice, shortly after the instructor will assign each attendee a potter's wheel. Once all students are situated the instructor will then demonstrate how to center clay, pull up your walls, and shape your vessels into a cup, bowl/dish or a vase. You will get a basic introduction to the tools used for clay throwing and how set up/clean up your potter’s wheel. All attendees will get the opportunity to accomplish two pots each during this two hour class. Alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks will be served during this event.

What’s Included:

The price listed is $80 per person , included is an Instructor-led 2 hour class, all materials, tools and an apron. We will glaze and fire your pottery so your creation with a complementary glaze color. A studio tech will be handling your work and applying the glaze of your choice. A courtesy text will be sent out when your works is ready for pickup. Freshments will be served, alcoholic and non alchoholic options will be available.

The Aftermath:

After your class, we will be processing your works in our studio. First, the piece must be allowed to get ‘bone dry’, then it will be fired to bisque ware. Then one of our studio techs will glaze your work for you based on the color you’ve chosen, and then it will be put back on the shelves to await the next glaze firing. Please allow two to four weeks lead times. Disclaimer: Mercado Art Studio can store your works for up to two weeks after your first notification, and our staff will send you up to two courtesy reminder texts, but after two weeks, all works will be donated.

Mercado Art Studio is a beautiful and welcoming clay studio that has been serving the Hallandale Beach community for over two years now, and before that with a location in Downtown Hollywood for five years.

We offer;

• One time beginner classes for wheel throwing,

• handbuilding,

• pottery painting and mosaics projects,

• four and eight week courses for those who want to learn more,

• monthly memberships that come with unlimited access to the studio and a locker to store your things,

• firing services for people who want to utilize our kilns, and we’re also a store where you can come in a buy beautiful finished works by our members, or to buy clay or tools.

There is plenty of free parking right in front and back of the studio, and we are conveniently located East of the I95 in Hallandale Beach.
