The Potomac Playmakers announce the 2026 One Act Play Festival! This year, the Playmakers are proudly presenting three original plays, all written by playwrights from the Four-State region. They are as follows –
“Don’t Look Back” by Dan Morra, Directed by Lyndsey Morris and starring Christopher Holden and Jade Harper – A middle-aged widower runs into an old girlfriend while waiting for his flight at the airport. Can two old flames reconnect years later and at vastly different periods of their lives?
“Eat” by Allison Whittenberg, Directed by Molly Britland and starring Taylor Martin, Krissi Dean, and Lyndsey Morris – A young man recovering from an eating disorder tries to navigate his health and a new relationship, all complicated by his highly concerned mother.
“The Silver Locket” by Robert Boucheron, Directed by Allen Jenkins and starring Sheri Babcock, Brian McClinton, Jade Harper, Kelli Donaghue, and Lisa Hatch - In her fifties, Nora enjoys recreational shopping. At a boutique, she finds a silver locket with an old photograph inside, and a trove of letters from the 1800s. Outside a house being dismantled, Nora then encounters Mrs. Howe, president of the Historical Society. The society acquires the locket and letters, which once belonged to Dr. Olivia Raeburn, who served as a surgeon in the Confederate Army. At the exhibition, Dr. Raeburn appears to Nora for a chat.
The Potomac Playmakers’ 2026 One Act Play Festival will be held on July 17 and July 18, 2026 at The Potomac Playmakers Performing Arts Center, located at 17303 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. Showtimes for the show will be 8:00 p.m. on Friday night and 3:00 p.m. for the Saturday matinee performance.
