Join us on Saturday the 19th at 1pm for a family-friendly potluck/picnic social at Laurelhurst Park! Please feel free to bring partners, kids, etc.Location: Laurelhurst Park– I will get there early to find a spot & then designate a meeting place and post it for everyone just before the event time.
Details/What to Bring: This is a family friendly event, so please feel free to bring your partners/kids! However, you are responsible for your own children– please do not rely on other group members to take care of your kids while you socialize. We sat on picnic benches most last time, but also found it was good to have some camping/folding chairs if that doesn’t work for you or you prefer that. If you like sitting on the ground, there is grass all around so feel free to do that and bring blankets for that. The kids tend to play together so absolutely bring some things for them.
Due to the family friendly nature, this is a strictly non-alcoholic event! Smoking/vaping is allowed away from the group.
Potluck/picnic: Please bring a drink/dish or two to share if you are able to (if you cannot– please still come)! We can always use more food / drinks. There will be a poll so we know what everyone is bringing, feel free to add your own options. We do have dietary restrictions in the group so keep that in mind. It would be good to specify if your dish has any major allergens (eggs, dairy, soy, meat, gluten, nuts, etc.)
Accessibility: We will pick the most accessible spot we can find for those who have limited mobility. We will also be finding the most shaded spot possible! If sun exposure is an issue, please plan accordingly. We will attempt to find somewhere flat (ish) and closer to the bathrooms. We sit where there are tables and grass so there are options for all. There are paved paths at this park.
Activities: This is a time to socialize and hang out with everyone. You can bring games or crafts if you like. Admin will be bringing some coloring supplies and a couple games, we may also bring fidgets. If you have kids coming bring some things you know they enjoy -- we will likely have a ball or two, some chalk / bubbles possibly
