Potjie Day, Rugby and Jive

Potjie Day is back to enjoy the best of your favourite home made cuisine and to bring Southern Africans together. The closer we are, the warmer we’ll be🔥

Venue: Almondsbury Creative. 10 Gloucester Rd,Almondsbury,Bristol,

Time: 1pm

We’ll be in the upstairs room above the pub where there’s a covered balcony so no need to worry about rain. Moenie worry about the cold either as there’s an indoor room where you can sit and watch your potjie. 

So the idea is to all cook our potjies over gas braais, show off your culinary skills, share our recipes and just enjoy getting together again.

Bring your own ingredients, potjie pot, gas braai/potjie cooker/bushman fire, tongs, deck chairs etc. 

Meat won’t be on sale so please bring your own👍

We’ll also have one braai on the go for those who would rather braai some meat but please bring some wood/charcoal. Thanks 🍖

If you don’t want to cook, that’s fine, just come along, grab a drink and enjoy the gees. You can always tip someone for a taste of their home made grub and the pub will be selling great tasting food as well, so there’ll be plenty of options. 

We’ll have a sound system playing the best Saffa choons while whipping up our meaty nosh. 

Afterwards we’ll head downstairs to the pub for the rugby and a jive. 

For allowing us to use their grounds, please support the pub and buy your drinks from them. We kindly ask that you don’t bring your own drinks on to the premises👍

Just a note to say that we need to be out the hall when the rugby starts so please help us tidy up the hall for the next group of people and then let’s move downstairs to the main pub area to enjoy the rugby together.

Kids and dogs are welcome. No entrance fee and no need to book, just come along and kuier. 🥘🍻🎶

Plenty free parking on site right next to the venue.
