EVENT UPDATE: Dragon Boat Race 2025 POSTPONED!We’re sorry to share that our upcoming Dragon Boat Race, due to take place on Sunday 7th September at Roundhay Park in Leeds, has been postponed.
Following reports of algae in the lake at Roundhay Park, we have been working closely with Leeds City Council and the Environment Agency to assess the situation. The safety of our participants and supporters is our top priority, so we have made the decision to postpone this year’s event.
We know how much our community looks forward to the Dragon Boat Race and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who has signed up, volunteered, or planned to support on the day. Our team will be in touch directly with participants regarding next steps. We are now working with the council to reschedule the event and have provisionally booked Sunday 26 April 2026 – watch this space!

Our Dragon Boat Race event is back and it’s bigger than ever!
Join us for a fantastic free day out at Roundhay Park, packed with racing, family fun, live entertainment, and fundraising in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice.
🛶 Watch the action unfold as 48 teams go head-to-head on the lake in full fancy dress, all racing to raise money for local children with life-shortening conditions and their families. It’s competitive, chaotic, and absolutely brilliant to watch!
