Do you have a passion for caring for, educating, and nurturing new moms/birthing persons? Do you love being around newborns? Become a postpartum doula and help families get a great start as they transition to parenthood.I have trained almost 900 postpartum doulas and I'd love to help you get started too!
My 2-day course is the first step to becoming a Certified Postpartum Doula.
This training goes from 8:30a-6:30p each day!
The 2-day training is $650
This course covers the following:
-The Scope of Practice for Postpartum Doulas
-Communication Skills
-How to work with various kinds of families
-How to care for new parents
-How to work with and support breastfeeding/chestfeeding families
-How to support and educate other family members
-How to teach families various baby care techniques
-Baby calming and soothing techniques
-The different types of postpartum mood disorders
-How to create resource lists for your clients
-How to create contracts and other professional documents
-How to market your business
-How to create realistic schedules

Training fees include the 2-day workshop, training manual, access to professional forms, daily snacks/drinks, mentorship through certification. Certification process will be reviewed in class. Certifying body is a 3rd party organization and obtaining certification will meet the requirements for Carrot and other insurance companies.

CERTIFICATION
---Provisional Certification:
Join and maintain membership in the Perinatal Professionals Association ($50 Introductory rate)
Submit proof of approved training within the last 6 months
Submit proof of a Lactation Class for Doulas (must be 3-4 hours)
Agree to certification policies and pay $125 certification fee
Submit evidence of current Infant CPR certification
Take Standards of Practice and Professionalism test with a 100% passing score
This Provisional Certification is good for 1 year and meets Carrot requirements
---Move on to the FULL Certification by doing the following:
Within 1 year of Provisional Certification, submit 100 Certification Points for Full Certification
Take a comprehensive multiple choice exam on postpartum doula topics to demonstrate proficiency
After Cert Points are submitted and Comprehensive Exam is passed, Full Certification is then valid for 3 years from earning your Provisional Certification.
NOTE: Fees for training do not include Certification Fees, Required classes, CPR certification, etc. This 2-day training does not grant certification. Certification can be obtained after taking my 2 day training through a 3rd party, independent certifying body. All steps and information will be provided during the training.
